Live Video Clip of the Day: Brandon Flowers "Bette Davis Eyes"

So you might have heard me talk about my minor obsession with all things The Killers(like here, here, and here), specifically one Brandon Flowers, who is embarking on his own solo career for a while. Well, the dude has some small concerts going on and today's clip is from one of them.

Something so awesome when one of your favorite acts covers one of your all time favorite songs. Ladies and gents...I give you Brandon Flowers doing a cover of Bette Davis Eyes.

Yeah, you're welcome.

Ten REALLY Good Breakup Songs

I've been rocking a lot of break up songs these days. Ha, don't ask.

Even when you aren't going through one, sometimes these tunes can bring you back to those ultra dramatic moments in your life and I mean that in both bad and good ways.

For some reason, when we go through these times, breakup songs are all we want to listen to. Our friends get mad at us, our family gets concerned, but we don't care. We want our daily dose of sad song medicine.

Perhaps we want to hear about a situation we can relate to or a chance to point out that at least we aren't as messed up as the couple in that song, but whatever it is, these little nuggets can be quite cathartic. So you can call me Dr. Phil for the day. Wait, please don't do that. I hate that guy.

Here is a list of ten great break up tunes:

Live Video Clip of the Day: The Killers 'Jenny was a Friend of Mine'

People are always shocked when they ask me my favorite band of all time and I respond with The Killers. Not sure why. Amazing band with a sound that incorporates so many influences, they're like a cornucopia of music goodness. That mixed with lyrics that are another nice blend of honesty and fantasy, makes them amazing.

Oh, and it doesn't hurt that Brandon Flowers is the most gorgeous person...ever. Siiiigh. (*Dreamy*)

They are on hiatus for a while while Brandon Flowers does his solo stuff, but I can't wait until these guys are coming out with more music. The bass on this clip is bananas.

Damn, they're so good. Give them the respect they deserve...because I say so.

The Killers Going on Indefinite Hiatus and I Cry Myself to Sleep

News broke a couple weeks ago, when The Killers canceled several shows in Asia, that the band is going on "hiatus".

Please let this be part time. With Panic! at The Disco breaking in half last year, the unsure times of Fall Out Boy, and now this, guyliner may just be a thing of the past.

Of course, I care much more about this band than the other two in that last statement. They're so awesome and always coming up with new stuff from album to album. I have really loved getting to see them progress as a band since 2004, when buying their album Hot Fuss became one of the best musical moments of my life. I've tried putting into words how much I love this band for the past hour, but I can't come up with anything. They're so good, they render me speechless.

Hey, guys, I know everyone needs a break, but please let this be a short term thing. If I have to live a life without The Killers, I don't know what I'll do with myself.

Until they reunite, I will be playing "Smile Like You Mean It" on permanent loop...in my heart.

Live Video Clip of the Day: The Killers Live at Abbey Road

Romeo and Juliet is an amazing song. It was originally performed by Dire Straits and written by their lead singer Mark Knopfler. Really just a beautiful tune with lyrics that pierce the soul. Dramatic, right?

Here is a clip of the Killers singing it back in 2007 at Abbey Road. It has also been covered by Matt Nathanson.

Live Video Clip of the Day: The Killers on Letterman, 5.11.09

The Killers+An Orchestra+Letterman=Awesome

Little lyric snippet from the following:

A change came in disguise of revelation
Set his soul on fire
She said she always knew he'd come around
And the decades disappear
Like sinking ships but we persevere
God gives us hope
But we still fear what we don't know

Bananas.
